With Bend-X Technology, racers of the future can make controlled turns even earlier, because the special flex zone in the binding area allows the ski to bend with less effort. Add to that a Race Rocker and V-shape design and turning is super easy – no matter how light the skier. A structured topsheet massively increases durability and gives a high quality finish. Precisely tuned edges are an important part of ski performance. A dull edge cannot penetrate the snow surface and will skid through a turn. An edge that is too sharp will grab and catch the snow surface creating unstable performance. The Atomic skis are prepared with a side edge angle of 87.0° for more intuitive handling, easier skiing and better grip on hard snow and ice.
All skis from the Atomic factory are delivered with steel edges that have been carefully machined with a precise base edge bevel for specific performance characteristics. Base edge angles between 0.8° and 1.6° lightly lift the ski edges off the snow for easy turning while maintaining edge grip and tracking throughout the turn.
