Product description

Ultra-agile through bends big and small, this is the ski that can do everything on the piste.

You could say that the term “all-mountain” was coined just for the Peregrine. Long, medium or crisp, short turns, cruising or skiing at the limits of speed, churned up or groomed slopes – if you’re ambitious about carving, look no further. With a 72 mm waist, the Peregrine is great for anyone who likes to carve quickly through every radius and sometimes really let rip. Fully overhauled and designed in bright colours for this winter, the Peregrine 72 is impossible to miss on the slopes. With diffrent geometry, a widened shovel and shortened tip and tail rocker, this powerhouse masters every turn radius and can switch edges even faster thanks to a two-millimetre narrower waist. Long, medium or short turns – if you’re ambitious about performance, look no further. Its versatility is magnified by Tailored Carbon Tips. Carbon fibres applied using Völkl’s exclusive Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP) process allow our engineers to influence curve behaviour with great accuracy. The strength and alignment of the fibres define the force you need to apply and the energy that builds up where it’s needed. Agile shovel reaction is a feature of special note. This means that as soon as you initiate a turn, the ski begins to steer in a measured and controlled manner, depending on how the edges are employed. This construction also allows means less weight without any loss of stability. Last but not least, TFP allows the Völkl designers to tailor every length to the requirements of each target group.

The whole Peregrine range is made with 3D.Glass at the front and rear areas, while the ski is built around our renowned multilayer wood core featuring a mix of poplar and beech. Two full layers of Titanal give the ski its familiar vigour. The Peregrine 72’s ride is also boosted by the R-Motion 3 GW binding. A shortened plate combined with a wider hole pattern delivers stronger, more direct power transmission and helps you switch edges quicker. The real highlight, however, is that the two rear screws are no longer fixed, allowing the binding to slide freely. With improved edge grip, the ski moves harmoniously through the entire line of the bend without being blocked. All in all, it takes noticeably less strength to turn with the Peregrine 72. For younger and lighter riders, the Peregrine 72 is now available for the first time in a length of below 160 cm – 158 to be precise.

The rMotion3 GripWalk® binding allows skis to flex more freely than ever.

This permits them to deliver their full performance and makes them much more dynamic. Excellent power transmission and optimum ski control are included. The binding can also be used unaltered with GripWalk® soles. The race-oriented rMotion3 GripWalk® binding system has a completely redesigned race plate, delivering the ultimate in ski flex and outstanding edge grip. Key factors in this are wider, multiple screw connections and a shortened front. As a result, skis can flex freely and harmoniously and dynamics are noticeably improved. An Xcell toe piece eliminates short, hard impacts and keeps the boot continuously centred. A Twin Cam X heel also makes the binding easy to step into. The rMotion3 GripWalk® is compatible with GripWalk® soles without any adjustment.

Multilayer Woodcore
Multilayer Woodcore:

The combination of beech and poplar results in an extremely durable wood core composed of hard wood in the binding area and lighter wood around.

Tailored Carbon Tips
Tailored Carbon Tips:

In this innovative manufacturing process the new Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material. The stiffness, torsion and thus the skiing characteristics can be specifically adjusted via the fiber thickness and millimeter-precise alignment. In this way, the fibers guide the dynamics to the areas of the ski where they are needed. The visibly integrated Tailored Carbon Tips are light, allow an agile shovel reaction with less effort and quickly build up energy. The Tailored Carbon Tips thus reach a new level of precision, direct tip response and active skiing pleasure.

Full Titanal
Full Titanal:

The titanium setup makes the ski agile and dynamic. Especially friends of a hard, fast and aggressive riding style benefit from the quick response of this construction.

Full Sidewall
Full Sidewall:

Direct and strong powertransmission with full length sidewalls.

3D.Glass
3D.Glass:

Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns.

1 3D.GLASS IS INTEGRATED IN THE TIP AND TAIL OF THE SKI

  • flat glass under the binding making the center softer
  • variable turning at any speed

2 GLASS ABOVE THE SIDEWALL

  • providing additional support for superior edge grip on icy slopes

3 VERTICAL GLASS IN TIP & TAIL AREA

  • more pop for faster edge to edge changes
Tip & Tail Rocker
Tip & Tail Rocker:

Bends up only in the shovel and tail zones, with a camber shape in the middle.

P-Tex 4504
P-Tex 4504:

A sintered, ultra-high molecular polyethylene base with an extremely high density. Besides a great wear resistance and perfect wax absorption the P-Tex 4504 is extremely fast and exclusively used on the top of the Völkl line and race models. The material has been upgraded with special additives to make it thermal and electro-conductive and proves its qualities with premium glide and maximum speed in races.
