The lightweight Inmold full-face helmet RUPI is made for children and weighs only 385 grams.
The removable chin bar makes the helmet particularly flexible to use. Rupicapra rupicapra means chamois in German. These are the eponym for the new children's bike helmet and climb effortlessly through terrain where we would rope up. They are even faster downhill. With the RUPI, ambitious kids may not be as sure-footed as chamois, but they are much better protected! The Ceramic Shell in combination with the Hi-EPS core ensures that forces can be absorbed in the event of a fall. The Run System ensures that the helmet fits perfectly, because only then is the best possible protection available. Since good ventilation is also essential when going downhill, the Rupi has 15 ventilation openings.
Technical data
In the production process for Inmold helmets the inner shell is foam-injected underneath the outer shell under high heat. Thanks to the complete fusion of the upper and lower shells Inmold helmets are extremely stable and very light. In addition, they offer clearly more safety than spot-glued helmets.
The inner shell of all Inmold helmets consists of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). It is made up of a large number of microscopic air pockets which absorb the impact forces that act in a crash. In addition, HI-EPS absorbs neither water nor perspiration.
All Alpina helmets that are manufactured using the inmold process have a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under high heat to the shape of the future helmet and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body with high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic Shell is characterized by several qualities: It is break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.
A simple, rugged adjustment wheel enabling the helmet to be easily adjusted for a perfect fit.
