The Atomic Redster Q9.8 Revoshock S combines top-tier build characteristics with World Cup proven tech to create the ultimate ski for the changing conditions of all-day on-piste skiing. Revoshock S keeps the ski stable, deflecting chatter and boosting out of the turns. Designed for advanced to expert skiers who aren't interested in limitations, the Redster Q9.8 Revoshock S features the widest waist width of any ski in the Q line at 85mm and pairs it with Multi Radius Sidecut. So every turn is powerful and snappy, whether it's GS arcs down a freshly groomed bowl or quick, variable turns through the bumps and chop of late afternoon. Ultrawall sidewalls keep turns locked in with knife-like edge hold, while the Power Woodcore works with Revoshock S, and the TI Powered Titanal layer to create a ski with unparalleled handling at any speed, all day, in any conditions on the groomers. Utilizing a series of spring steel modules each encased in impact absorbing elastomer, the revolutionary Revoshock S technology acts like a built-in suspension system for your skis to block distracting shocks before they reach your feet. Whether you’re straightlining groomers or making fast turns at your limit, the race-proven Revoshock S provides a smoother, more precise run. But Revoshock S doesn’t just absorb impacts — it rebounds them.
With Active Camber, more of the ski’s edge length stays in contact with the snow. This creates better grip on icy slopes and makes the ski super stable.
Precisely tuned edges are an important part of ski performance. A dull edge cannot penetrate the snow surface and will skid through a turn. An edge that is too sharp will grab and catch the snow surface creating unstable performance. The Atomic skis are prepared with a side edge angle of 87.0° for more intuitive handling, easier skiing and better grip on hard snow and ice.
All skis from the Atomic factory are delivered with steel edges that have been carefully machined with a precise base edge bevel for specific performance characteristics. Base edge angles between 0.8° and 1.6° lightly lift the ski edges off the snow for easy turning while maintaining edge grip and tracking throughout the turn.
