The binding is so light you hardly know you have it on. It is still however extremely durable for the toughest uses thanks to high-performance materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber. In contrast to other bindings in the same weight class, the Mezzalama is fully adjustable both laterally and vertically with values from DIN 5-10. That allows them to blur the boundaries between Speed and Tour segments. Entry into both the toe piece and heel unit is race-optimized and functions super easily and quickly. This means you don’t lose valuable time on the mountain. For use on ice or crust, you can attach ski crampons to the Mezzalama binding for extra safety. In addition, the Mezzalama binding is compatible with the intelligent, light, 33-gram Low Tech race brakes. It boasts innovative dual function with heel lifter and brake as well as one-handed operation. Athletes can therefore transition between ski and walk modes in seconds and at the same time can deploy either risers or brakes. Integrating the riser function with the brake allowed developers to save those last few grams.
