Product description

The Studio 4 is the new iteration of Faction’s most storied ski.

The key elements that have earned this special shape a cult following all remain in play: a poplar core that balances strength and light weight; an ultra-wide platform for dream floatation in powder; a carbon/rubber stomp pad for vibration absorption; and a unique blend of minimal camber, generous rocker and elliptical sidecut to unlock effortless smearing and turn initiation. The magic of old blends with the new to make the Studio 4 a lock for your quiver: the ski now boasts premium Austrian quality, powered 100% by renewable energy. For skiers seeking a mix of true performance and pure play, this one’s simply drool-inducing.

The Faction Studio Series represents the space where creativity flourishes — where inspired vision takes tangible form. Crafted in close collaboration with the Faction top athletes, the Studio Series comprises a family of premium twin-tips that blend high-speed, all-mountain freeski performance with free-flowing, nimble freestyle spirit, emphasizing pure self-expression on snow. Because your inventiveness is ever-evolving from season to season, the skis are built to last, with reinforced wood cores, stomp pads for heavy landings; carbon for lightweight rigidity; and 7mm XL sidewalls. Power and play collide in the Studio – step inside and start creating.

Recycled Materials
Recycled Materials:

Built with recycled materials, never sacrificing durability. Faction is working with their production partners to eliminate material waste. They now mix base, sidewall and topsheet material scraps back into the raw material used for production, reducing carbon emissions while ensuring the same level of quality & durability. As a fun fact, by integrating recycled materials into their ski bases, they reduce the ecological impact of our bases by 75%.

Locally Sourced Materials
Locally Sourced Materials:

In an effort to reduce the impact of their supply chain, Faction strives to source materials from European companies that are based near their factories.

100% Renewable Energy Factory
100% Renewable Energy Factory:

This ski is produced in a cutting-edge facility that runs on electrical power that is 100% renewable. Additionally, its heating energy comes solely from biomass. The factory no longer uses oil, resulting in annual CO2 emissions reductions of a whopping 10 million kilograms.

Technical data

Lenght (cm) Radius (m) Sidecut (mm) Weight/ pair
176 21 148 - 122 - 142 4200g
184 23 148 - 122 - 142 4460g
191 25 148 - 122 - 142 4760g
Poplar Core
Poplar Core:

Poplar is a light-coloured, medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities. Used as the only wood in this core, it allows the ski to pop, butter and stomp like a park ski and also have enough torsional stability to grip impressively on the downhill.

Carbon Stringer
Carbon Stringer:

A carbon weave sandwiches the ski’s wood core, providing extra stability and torsional rigidity without adding bulk to the build. Feel confident when you're about to pop to the Moon. Between 8 and 12 strips of carbon, sandwiching either side of the ski’s woodcore, are laid unidirectionally, providing extra stability to the ski, without adding bulk to the build. Each carbon strip is woven into the fiberglass to provide strength and stiffness in the full length of the ski.

Carbon and Rubber Stomp Pad
Carbon and Rubber Stomp Pad:

Carbon and rubber Stomp Pad absorbs vibration at high speeds and upon landing big airs. A 600mm-long, 15mm-wide carbon/rubber reinforcement underfoot, above the edge, adds strength where it matters most to this performance oriented ski. In addition to protecting the wood core from heavy-duty impact on rails, the carbon and rubber inlay adds stability and vibration absorption under your boots, so that stomped landings feel better, both for you and your skis.

XL 2.5mm Edges
XL 2.5mm Edges:

7 fractions of a millimetre might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The 2.5mm edges stack an extra 35% of height on top of Factions already super-durable standard 1.8mm edges. This extra steel gives the rider a pair of skis that are going to take more abuse and last longer.

Full Strength Sidewall
Full Strength Sidewall:

A construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the woodcore, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage.

Elliptical Radius Sidecut
Elliptical Radius Sidecut:

Elliptical Radius Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail result in seamless turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths and angles.

 Anti-Chip Micro Cap
Anti-Chip Micro Cap:

Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping.

Boat Flex
Boat Flex:

Boat flex" combines a stiffer tip and tail to help settle the skis at speed, with a softer mid section, for big-time pop on request Heavy rocker is best complemented by solid, stiffer tips and tails, to help settle the skis and power through variable snow. Additionally, the stiff tips absorb more vibration when skiers touch down after going airborne. Just add a touch more flex underfoot and it allows the skis to load up and POP on request

Tip and Tail Rocker + Traditional Camber
Tip and Tail Rocker + Traditional Camber:

Tip and tail rocker + traditional camber, for the perfect blend of high performance edge hold, easy turn initiation, and float in soft snow.
