Fritschi Xenic 10 Touring Binding yellow incl. 105mm Brakes
Product description
Peak performer - surpass yourself.
The Xenic is the most complete lightweight binding for high-mountain skiers who attack full-on when going up, but also go full-speed downhill on any kind of alpine terrain. It also suits those who are working on their fitness on the slope. Among the lightweights, the Xenic is the only binding equipped with such a wide range of efficient safety technologies. There is no need to lock the system to prevent pre-releases when downhill skiing.
Fritschi touring bindings distinguish themselves through new technological solutions. In a nutshell: strong on the descent and uncompromising in the prevention of injuries.
The light weight, the easy step-in and the practical operation make the Xenic an exceptionally agile binding for ski tours in any terrain. The innovative front unit with horizontally moving pin levers provides a secure hold in front. The exceptionally wide heel support in back ensures perfect control of the skis. When skiing downhill, length compensation of 10 mm for the flexing ski ensures a reliable release according to the settings. With a DIN setting range starting from 3, the Xenic offers optimal safety even for very light touring skiers.
Provide a secure hold and prevent pre-release. Therefore, no preventive locking of the system is necessary when descending.
The power is transferred directly to the ski via the extra-wide support at the heel.
Consistent pressure on the system and therefore reliable release at set DIN values even if the ski is heavily flexed.
The tip of the boot is optimally positioned by means of a fixed stop and a positioning guide. In response to even slight pressure on the broad step-in pedal the pin levers shift horizontally inward and quickly and precisely engage in the inserts of the boots.
Sophisticated technology for easy use
Using the climbing aid as a lever the Xenic 10 can very easily be changed from the downhill to the uphill position with just half a turn of the heel. The stopper locks automatically on the first step.
The walk-mode levels of 2° and 11° and the climbing aid, which is controllable with the pole, provide absolute ergonomic comfort in climbing uphill
The pin levers of the innovative frontal unit shift hori-zontally and thus absorb vertically acting forces. An unintended release caused by shocks from the bottom is prevented without the need to block the system while skiing downhill.
A frontal release is subject to significantly higher forces than a lateral release. To function properly, separate mechanisms are required with appropriately designed, infinitely adjustable springs.
The elasticity of 10 mm for the ski via length compen-sation applies constant pressure to the system, even when the skis are considerably flexed. This ensures a reliable release based on the settings in any situation.
When the heel is released the boot tips forward. Only the bindings from Fritschi will then also release the boot in the frontal unit at the right time, between an angle of approx. 65° to 75°, depending on the form of the boot’s front.
The power is directly transmitted to the skis via the core tower integrated in the compact heel unit. The large diameter of the core tower allows the broadest support of the system in this category.
