Product description

Versatile, functional long-sleeve top made from merino wool

100% merino wool, 100% pure function: Die 185 MERINO Linie combines optimal moisture management with a high level of comfort for complete focus in the mountains. Thanks to its medium weight of 185 g/m², the 185 MERINO line is ideal as a base layer – or as a first layer on warm days spent freeriding and ski touring. Their natural functionality and soft feel are an unbeatable duo: Itch-free comfort is guaranteed thanks to fine wool fibers with a 19-micron diameter and optimum moisture- and temperature-regulation. The odor-neutralizing properties of merino wool come into their own on the way to the summit, especially in sweat-inducing passages.

Sustainability

Ortovox Wool Promise
Ortovox Wool Promise:

Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear. The merino wool comes from selected farms that comply with the OWP wool standard: the ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE. ORTOVOX obtains its virgin wool from certified and ethical sheep farms. These farms are regularly monitored within the framework of the OWP. The wool is naturally 100% ecological and therefore super sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibers in its fine woolen threads, merino wool feels extremely soft and comfortable on the skin.  In addition to comfort, merino wool also provides an ideal personal body climate by regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial effect, odor neutralizing.

Mulesing free
Mulesing free:

Mulesing free describes a type of sheep farming in which the animals are spared the painful procedure of mulesing. Mulesing involves removing folds of skin around the animals' tails, sometimes without anesthesia, and this controversial procedure is used to prevent possible parasitic infestations. However, this technique is not used on animals from strictly controlled Mulesing free farms. Instead, they rely on close-meshed health monitoring to prevent parasite infestations and diseases. This increases the well-being and quality of life of the sheep, making Merino wool with the Mulesing free label the best choice for anyone who wants to support pain-free sheep husbandry and breeding.
