Product description

With this Pieps set you are perfectly equipped! The set consists of the PIEPS PRO BT high-performance beacon, the T500 Race avalanche shovel and the Alu 300 probe.

The PIEPS PRO BT is the most advanced beacon, with a feature set built for all user.

The devices of the Pieps Pro series offer the latest technology and best performance in any situation. The PIEPS PRO BT offers a range of advanced features for professionals. The inclinometer function displays the steepness of the terrain and the Auto Antenna Switch always uses the antenna with the strongest signal. Pieps’ sophisticated signal verification only displays signals from beacons and not “ghost signals” from other sources. The SCAN function can be used to efficiently solve scenarios where multiple people are buried in snow. This feature provides a quick overview of the situation with multiple people buried in snow and shows the number of buried persons in a specific close-up area. Strategic targeted search with Victim Selecition! In detailed SCAN mode, the avalanche beacon displays direction and distance for each buried person to enable a targeted rescue strategy. The avalanche beacon automatically switches from search to send after a certain period of inactivity (no movement). Built-in Bluetooth technology and the PIEPS APP allow you to update and check your device or your entire fleet of PIEPS BT devices. The PIEPS APP can be used to create challenging training scenarios for avalanche rescue.

The PIEPS Shovel T500 Race is the perfect shovel.

The snow shovel offers the lowest weight and extreme hardness, and is ideal for all those who pay attention to every gram. The PIEPS SHOVEL T is the perfect shovel for ski tours in low and high mountains. The oval telescopic handle with T-grip prevents twisting in the hand when shoveling. Non-slip grooves and sharpened edges ensure easy cutting in hard snow. The T-shovels guarantee light weight and optimum stability thanks to a special surface coating and pronounced center bars. The weight of the shovels is also reflected in the name (T500 Race = 500 g). The Quick-Lock system connects the shaft and shovel blade without pressing a button.

The PIEPS ALUMINIUM is a throwing probe that is simple and easy to attach.

Alongside avalanche transceivers and shovels, the PIEPS ALUMINIUM is an important part of the recommended safety equipment and therefore belongs in every winter sports enthusiast's rucksack.

RANGE DEFINITIONS

CIRCULAR RECEIVING RANGE: PIEPS devices have a so-called “circular receiving range”. This means that the X and Y antennas are equally strong during the coarse search (max. 10% power difference in the best coupling position). This almost circular reception characteristic leads to a simpler and more efficient coarse search. With antennas of different strengths, on the other hand, an elliptical reception characteristic results, which means that the device has a shorter reception range to its side than to the front or rear.

USEFUL RANGE: With Useful Range, we specify the range at which a constant signal can still be received even in the worst case, i.e. with the most unfavorable coupling position between the transmitter and the search device.

SEARCH STRIP WIDTH: The search strip width indicates the range that counts in an emergency. How wide can I choose my search section to be sure that I will locate the buried victim(s) if they are in this area? The search strip width we recommend is double the USEFUL RANGE. Double because this range covers two directions. This means to the front and to the rear, as well as to the left and to the right. With a recommended search strip width of 60 m, you can therefore pass through the middle of an avalanche cone with a width of 60 m, as you have a range of 30 meters to the left and right. As our recommended search strip width is based on the USEFUL RANGE, we also cover the most unfavorable scenario.

MAX RANGE Specifies the range from which stable initial reception is possible in the best coupling position. For us, stable initial reception means that 8 out of 10 pulses are correctly detected.
