The Ortles Edge Mid Gore-Tex® boot is a fast, tough, yet light and versatile solution for alpine mountaineering, where precise and supportive footwork is required. Its innovative materials and technologies make this product the perfect versatile mountaineering boot, allowing users to be extremely comfortable, yet precise while moving towards an ascent. The combination also makes it particularly lightweight and exceptionally robust. As such, it offers the perfect balance between durability and comfort, agility and protection.
The hard-wearing, high-tensile Schoeller® nylon upper is reinforced with rubber rand and TPU inserts for additional rock and scree protection and the trademarked SALEWA® 3F System reinforced with Kevlar cables. For additional weather protection, the GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort membrane offers wearers both comfort and weather protection in changing conditions, including heavy rain and deep snow.
Underfoot, the high-performance Pomoca™ Alpine Dynamic outsole ensures secure grip and traction on rock, snow and ice and good crampon compatibility. It features a precision climbing zone, S-path guidance for walkability – and special rubber compound for improved grip and traction on snow and ice. Inside, the double-density EVA midsole provides good cushioning on both flat and steep terrain. In addition, the customizable Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) has interchangeable layers that allow you to further fine-tune the volume. On big mountain days with long descents, localized shock absorption zones reduce stress on the knees and ankles. And the Ankle Protector System (APS) does exactly what it says – the thermoformed material heel cuff offers extra ankle lateral-support, especially on downhill sections.
